Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who need it the most in a developing country? This transformational internship led by design thinking professionals from Humanos will help you to develop your innovation, problem-solving, and responsible leadership skills as you help local Colombian entrepreneurs rebuild their lives. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team who will co-create, alongside the local community, a scalable and sustainable solution to issues they’re facing through Design Thinking, a powerful methodology for creating innovative pathways to a better future.

WHAT IS DESIGN THINKING

Why Colombia?

Colombia is emerging following years of political instability and internal conflict that tore the nation apart. Today, Colombia battles major misconceptions stemming from its infamous past that do not reflect its present-day reality.

Colombia is one of the fastest-growing economies in South America. It’s a safe, stunning, unexplored destination for travellers, and a nation filled with a colourful determination to move forward.

Bogota

Bogota is the cosmopolitan, international capital of Colombia and a financial hub for South America. The city has modernized significantly in recent years and has begun welcoming major international companies. Though the income and social gaps are improving, much work remains to be done. Its citizens are ready to move forward with creative, innovative ideas to improve their lives and their country.

    Learn about designing impactful interview questions and conducting effective interviews. You’ll try your hand at interviewing 15-20 people.

    Storytelling and Synthesis

    Learn collective sense-making through storytelling and synthesis. As a group, you’ll debrief on the interviews you’ve conducted over the past two days.

    Personas, Ideating, Brainstorming

    Main topics covered today include creating personas and understanding their point-of-view. That is, seeing the world through the eyes of others and moving from insights to needs. Your group will begin the ideation and brainstorming process.

    Today’s focus is on the 4th design thinking step related to the rapid development of prototypes for fast feedback.
